USCIS has recently issued a final rule updating immigration and naturalization benefit request fees for the first time since 2016. The rule aims to enhance cost recovery and expedite the processing of applications following a comprehensive review. Highlights include expanded fee exemptions and discounts, with certain applications experiencing price changes. These fee adjustments will be effective April 1, 2024.
Below are some of the applications that will experience a price increase:

Record of Arrival –22.9% Increase
Petition for Alien Relative – 20.75% Increase
Application for Travel Document – 8.77% Increase
Application to Adjust Status – 10.88% Increase
Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility – 10.75% Increase
Provisional Unlawful Presence Waiver – 18.66% Increase
Removal Of Conditions – 10.29% Increase
Employment Authorization – Varies with baseline relief.
Please Note- an $85 biometrics fee may apply where applicable.
According to USCIS, these fee adjustments aim to enhance customer experience and address backlog growth. USCIS will continue to explore innovative solutions. However, sustained congressional funding remains crucial to manage recent caseload surges effectively. Therefore, if you are contemplating filing an application or petition, we suggest you do so before the fee increases go into effect.
